The Regreening Is Taking Part in the Earth Appreciation Festival With New Playtest

Restore a Deserted World in The Regreening

A new eco-focused indie title is inviting players to reconnect with nature as The Regreening prepares for its latest playtest during the upcoming Earth Appreciation Festival. Developed by Positive Impact Games and ByteRockers’ Games, the open playtest will be available on Steam from April 17 to April 24.

Following a warm reception during March’s Women’s Day Sale, the cozy farming simulation is opening its doors once again, giving more players a chance to explore its unique world inspired by Baltic folklore and real environmental challenges. The game presents itself as a “soilpunk fairytale,” blending relaxing gameplay with a deeper ecological message.

The Regreening

In The Regreening, players step into a deserted land and slowly bring it back to life. Through gardening, crafting, and interacting with wildlife, the environment begins to transform into a thriving ecosystem. The experience focuses on calm exploration, allowing players to progress at their own pace. All while forming bonds with ancient spirits rooted in folklore. The overall design highlights the simple satisfaction of restoring balance to nature.

This second playtest is aimed at refining the experience based on community feedback. Developers are using this phase to polish core mechanics and make adjustments ahead of a larger release. It is expected to be one of the final small-scale tests before a demo version is officially announced.

In short, The Regreening continues to shape up as a relaxing yet meaningful simulation that blends creativity with environmental awareness, offering players a peaceful escape with a purpose. You can check out the official trailer below to get a glimpse of the charming experience ahead.
