Enter the Battlefield Now in Blades for Hire
DoubleTap and Valkyrie Interactive have officially launched the Blades For Hire Playtest on Steam, giving players an early opportunity to experience the upcoming tactical RPG. The Playtest began on March 9 and will remain available until March 23.
This latest Playtest build expands on the previously released demo with a variety of improvements and adjustments. According to the developers, the new version includes several refinements made after reviewing feedback from players who tried the earlier build. Participants can also unlock a special in-game reward that will carry over to the game’s full release. Players who meet the required conditions during the Playtest will receive exclusive equipment for their mercenaries when Blades For Hire officially launches.
To qualify for the reward, players must add the game to their Steam Wishlist, follow the publisher’s Steam page, and unlock the Steam achievement titled “Old Guard.” You can find out additional details about the reward on the game’s official Steam announcement.
Blades For Hire focuses on tactical combat and player decision-making, placing players in control of a group of mercenaries facing a variety of strategic challenges. The current Playtest offers a look at the game’s latest development state while allowing players to help shape its progress through feedback.
Players who previously signed up have already received access to the Playtest. The team is still accepting new requests during the event, although approvals may take a bit longer than in earlier phases. The Playtest currently supports several languages, including English, Russian, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Simplified Chinese, and Turkish.
