A Heartfelt Story Awaits in MONOWAVE
Independent developer Studio BBB has announced that its heartfelt puzzle-adventure platformer MONOWAVE will launch in 2026 for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and additional consoles. Revealed during IGN Fan Fest 2026, the game debuted with a full-length trailer that highlights its emotional journey, vibrant characters, and imaginative worlds shaped by feeling.
MONOWAVE follows Mono, a newborn Guardian charged with restoring balance to a fractured world. To do so, Mono must reunite four scattered Emotions: Anger, Anxiety, Happiness, and Sorrow. As the guardian spirit of these forces, Mono channels their powers to interact with each realm’s eccentric inhabitants and calm Emotions that have spiraled out of control. The adventure blends thoughtful platforming and clever puzzles with a deeply empathetic narrative, creating an experience that feels both cozy and meaningful.
To mark IGN Fan Fest, Studio BBB has released a newly polished demo on Steam. Players can explore Chapter 1, around an hour of gameplay, set in “The Panic Jungle,” a world overwhelmed by anxiety. The demo introduces core emotion-based mechanics and culminates in the game’s first boss encounter. All while offering a hands-on glimpse into MONOWAVE’s heartfelt design.
Beyond its gameplay, MONOWAVE stands out with a whimsical scratch-art-inspired visual style and an original soundtrack that enhances its emotional atmosphere. Studio BBB has also relaunched the game’s official Discord server, inviting fans to connect with the team, join community events, and follow development as the journey toward the 2026 release continues.
