An Amazing Story Awaits in Oppidum
Oppidum, the narrative-driven survival game developed by Spanish studio EP Games, is now available on Nintendo Switch. The release follows the game’s recent win for Best Accessibility in Videogames at the first edition of the Iris Awards 2025, marking an important milestone as the title reaches a wider audience on a new platform.
Designed for one to four players, Oppidum blends exploration, cooperation, and storytelling. Players work together to save the island of Insule from a spreading corruption. The Nintendo Switch version is also compatible with Nintendo Switch 2, with a free upgrade planned for that platform in countries where it is permitted. To celebrate the launch, EP Games has released a new trailer highlighting the experience on Switch.
This new release arrives alongside a major update available on Nintendo Switch and all other platforms. The update introduces two new minigames, Beach Pong and Battle Arena, adding more variety to the core experience. The developers have expanded accessibility with a new pause mode that players can map to controllers and use pre-mapped on keyboard, along with a visual indicator on enemy attack bars that helps players time perfect parries more easily.
Players can now obtain Tamai by destroying unused objects in their camp. The update also brings several improvements to resource and inventory management, making everyday survival tasks smoother and more intuitive. In addition, players can now access the credits directly from the main menu instead of waiting till the end of the game.
Oppidum is currently available on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Nintendo eShop. The Switch version launches with an exclusive discount for players ready to begin their journey on Insule from day one.
