Eldritch Climb: A Cursed Ascent Will Arrive on Steam Early Access in Q4 2025

Conquer the Mountains in Eldritch Climb: A Cursed Ascent

The indie game studio Covert Wonders has revealed that Eldritch Climb: A Cursed Ascent is launching in Q4 2025 on Steam Early Access. Furthermore, a demo is already available on the platform for everyone to try out. There is also a teaser trailer that showcases the epic climbing adventure that awaits us all.

The game blends climbing mechanics with roguelike progression, all wrapped in an unsettling layer of cosmic horror. Each ascent takes players through shifting environments where they must swing, leap, and carefully scale unstable terrain. At the center of this climb lies the mysterious currency known as Eyes. Gathering them not only increases the intensity of each encounter but also transforms the world, making it stranger and disturbing. With every level, enemy, and mechanic featuring three variations, the climb grows more unpredictable the deeper players go.

Exploration is not limited to physical movement. Puzzles hidden throughout the mountain unlock fragmented memories, slowly revealing the protagonist’s past. As well as the twisted cults that worship the peak’s dark power. Items further expand the possibilities, whether scavenged from fallen corpses or purchased from in-game shops. Players can equip tools in each hand to discover powerful combinations, though strategy is required since an item in the same hand that is clinging to the rock face cannot be used. Passive gear adds another layer of support, providing subtle advantages during the climb.

For Covert Wonders, a team of five developers, Eldritch Climb: A Cursed Ascent is both a bold experiment and a first step into the indie space. By combining inventive difficulty systems, narrative depth, and replayability, the studio aims to deliver a roguelike where every run feels like a dangerous yet thrilling ascent into the unknown.
