Blue Archive Hits the Field With Pray-Ball! Swing for the Grand Slam! Update

New Students Also Await in Blue Archive

NEXON’s anime-style RPG Blue Archive has stepped up to the plate with its latest update, Pray-Ball! Swing for the Grand Slam!, now available on Steam and mobile devices. The update introduces two new recruitable students, Sumire (Part Timer) and Rei, alongside a baseball-themed story event packed with rewards.

Set in the sprawling academy city of Kivotos, Blue Archive casts players as the advisor to the Federal Investigation Club SCHALE. Tasked with solving the city’s constant stream of incidents, players balance strategic battles and military style missions while forging bonds with a cast of anime-inspired students.

The update brings fresh gameplay opportunities, starting with the Student Recruitment Event, which began on August 26. Players have an increased chance to recruit Sumire (Part Timer) and Rei until September 8 at 5:59 PM PT / September 9 at 1:59 AM UTC. Sumire (Part Timer) specializes in targeting a single enemy with her Weakness Detection effect before delivering powerful follow-up strikes, while Rei unleashes wide area attacks proportional to her ATK.

Alongside recruitment, the Pray-Ball! Swing for the Grand Slam! Story Event also kicked off on August 26. The story follows Rei and Sumire as they uncover a mystery involving the Corgi Heroes baseball team, all while aiming for their first victory. Completing quests and stages grants players event points and items, including the Cheering Balloon. Event challenges reward 50 Pyroxenes per stage, and clearing the final EX Stage nets 5 Secret Tech Note Fragments. The event concludes at the same time as the recruitment period.

Blue Archive is free to download worldwide on Android, iOS, and Steam.
