Ghost Vanguard Is Launching a Kickstarter Campaign

Ghost Vanguard Needs Your Help

Wombo Combo Games, a two-person indie team based in Japan, has announced the upcoming Kickstarter campaign for Ghost Vanguard, a side-scrolling beat’em up infused with roguelike hack-and-slash mechanics. The campaign aims to raise $20,000 to help complete development, polish gameplay systems, and expand to console platforms through stretch goals.

Ghost Vanguard reimagines the 2D side-scroller with fluid, high mobility combat and dark fantasy storytelling. Players step into dungeons brimming with sinister forces, battling to reclaim a stolen soul through stylish swordplay and devastating combos. The game blends the tactical depth of roguelike builds with the fast-paced energy of modern action titles, drawing inspiration from classics such as Dragon Crown, Castlevania, and Devil May Cry.

Each run offers fresh challenges through randomized maps and replayable level designs. Alongside enemy encounters, players can discover diverse special rooms, including arcade-style mini games, challenge arenas, healing springs, and even trap-filled treasure chests. Combat variety lies at the heart of the experience, with a wide selection of weapons, each offering its own combo tree, tempo, and strategy. Spells and relics further expand customization, allowing players to experiment with synergies and create unique builds tailored to their playstyle.

The developers aim to use Kickstarter funds to complete environments, refine enemy designs, add new weapons, improve balance, and ensure localization. Early backers will gain access to a discounted pledge tier, while a demo will be available during the campaign to showcase the game’s core mechanics.

The Ghost Vanguard Kickstarter will launch soon. The game promises to give players a chance to experience its blend of roguelike depth and stylish action.
