Prepare Your Hammer for DeckoutĀ
Indie developer Ahmed Jalil has revealed that his upcoming project, Deckout, will debut a playable demo during Steam Next Fest this October. Players eager to try it out can already add the game to their wishlist and catch an early look through its official gameplay trailer.
Deckout takes the spirit of a party game and distills it into a fast-paced, competitive card battler designed for 2 to 4 players. The premise is simple yet unpredictable: everyone secretly picks their cards, reveals them in order, and plays through a round governed by a randomly chosen rule. These rules can completely shift the outcome, sometimes rewarding pairs or straights, other times upending the scoring system altogether.
Each decision carries weight because every mistake comes at a cost. A hammer falls on the lowest scorer of the round, stripping away one of their three hearts. With such a tight margin for survival, the tension rises quickly, and matches rarely play out the same way twice. The result is a blend of quick-fire rounds, sharp choices, and plenty of laughs.
Beyond its chaotic design, Deckout emphasizes accessibility. Visual feedback keeps scoring transparent, and the interface is crafted for instant readability, so no one is left behind. While the game thrives as a social experience among friends, it also features AI opponents designed to mimic real players and respond dynamically to unfolding situations, ensuring solo sessions remain engaging.
By combining card strategy with unpredictable twists, Deckout aims to capture the kind of energy that fuels late-night game nights. With its demo arriving in October, players will soon get their first chance to step into the fray and see who can outlast the hammer.
