Brainburn Studio has announced the demo release of Flashes of Chaos, available on Steam for PC starting August 8, 2025. The game throws players into a fast-paced roguelike top-down shooter, where they craft and customize brutal weapons in a chaos-fueled world. A dynamic card-based ammo system sits at the heart of the experience, encouraging experimentation with nearly limitless combinations to shape each player’s unique playstyle.
In the game, players can carry three weapons per run: Primary, Secondary, and Melee, each equipped with ammo card slots that dictate how the weapon behaves. They can also swap the ammo cards freely between weapons. Not only that, there are modifiers that can enhance each one, stacking and interacting in unexpected ways. This system opens the door to countless loadout possibilities, encouraging creativity and aggressive gameplay.
Combat in Flashes of Chaos is set to the rhythm of pulsing synth beats. It transforms every encounter into a fast, fluid, and violent dance. Movement is slick and responsive, while attacks are visceral, whether you’re stabbing, smashing, or shooting your way through enemies.
