Dive Beneath For A Lovecraftian Vayage
Wired Productions and Camel 101 have officially announced that Beneath, their Lovecraftian first-person horror shooter, is headed to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Set in the eerie depths of the ocean, the game blends classic gunplay with tense, atmospheric horror for a survival experience packed with psychological dread.
Players won’t have to wait long to dive in. A new PC demo is available now on Steam until August 4. It offers a limited-time chance to step into the role of diver Noah Quinn and face the lurking terrors firsthand.
“We grew up playing games like F.E.A.R. on the PS3,” said Bruno and Ricardo Cesteiro, the brotherly duo behind studio Camel 101. “That blend of tight gunplay and supernatural suspense made a huge impact on us. With Beneath, we wanted to create a full-length, narrative-first game that recaptures that feeling – no online mode, no microtransactions. Just you, your instincts, and a lot of ammo.”
Beneath follows Noah on what begins as a routine expedition, only to spiral into a desperate fight for survival. Trapped underwater with his supplies running low, he must battle grotesque mutations, creeping madness, and a hidden threat that could reach far beyond the ocean floor.
Designed with current-generation consoles in mind, the game uses the latest hardware to deliver a cinematic horror experience. On PS5, players can expect haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and enhanced visuals via PSSR on PS5 Pro. The developers aim for 4K resolution at 60fps, promising smooth and immersive gameplay throughout.
The game is available to wishlist now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
