Necrofugitive Nears Kickstarter Goal With Two Weeks Remaining

Show Some Love for Necrofugitive

Black Garden Studios, the indie developer behind the hand-drawn pixel art title Necrofugitive, announced that its Kickstarter campaign is close to reaching its funding goal. With two weeks left, the project has already secured over 80% of its target after raising more than 60% in the first week.

Necrofugitive puts its players in the role of a shapeshifting cultist of Skoroz, the eldritch god of chaos. The journey is to escape a brutal witch hunt after the massacre of their cult. As the last hope of a vengeful god, players must evade the kingdom’s relentless armies and survive in a world collapsing under famine, war, and plague.

The game uses hand-drawn animations and dynamic lighting to build a rich medieval setting. From crumbling dungeons to sunlit forests, the environments reflect the era’s chaos while blending in monstrous fantasy elements. Composer Edwin Montgomery, known for his work on Warhammer 40K and Game of Thrones, created the game’s dramatic soundtrack.

Steam currently offers a free demo, giving players a chance to explore the dark world of Avencia. Through the Kickstarter campaign, backers can claim exclusive rewards such as unique character palettes, collectibles, and a hand-painted tabletop miniature. Some supporters can even appear in the game as part of its lore, with their portraits featured in the world.

With strong early support and momentum building, Black Garden Studios looks ready to fully fund Necrofugitive and deliver its dark vision of chaos and survival.
