Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef Has Unveiled a New Developer Walkthrough Video

Take a Look at Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef

First Break Labs, a team of seasoned game developers committed to supporting indie creators, has partnered with The Fine Arc to unveil a new developer walkthrough for Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef at PAX East. This action roguelike dungeon crawler, steeped in Lovecraftian horror and available now in Steam Early Access, continues to evolve with new content and gameplay improvements.

The latest video introduces Florence, the newest playable character. It also takes a deeper look at spellcasting mechanics, weapon upgrades, and terrifying new enemies lurking in the depths. These additions are part of a major update that includes several changes designed to enhance the overall experience.

One of the standout features is an overhauled incantation system. It now features over 20 magical abilities that grant a range of stat boosts and effects. Players can also wield a new weapon, the Flamethrower, which unleashes fire across multiple enemies. Meanwhile, the formidable Deep One, encountered in Act 2, has been redesigned to be larger and more menacing than before.

In Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef, players take on the role of a desperate treasure hunter. Burdened by debt, you’re driven to explore the mysterious seaside town of Innsmouth. With gold rumored to lie beneath the waves, players must battle eldritch horrors in procedurally generated dungeons, solo or co-op with up to four players.

Inspired by the pixel art of 90s classics and guided by a haunting atmospheric score, Devil Reef invites players to embrace the unknown. The game is available now in Early Access on Steam.
