Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef Rolls Out New Update Ahead of Full Launch

Welcome to Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef

Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef, the Lovecraftian action roguelike dungeon crawler from The Fine Arc, has received a significant new update as it heads toward full release later this year. Available now on Steam Early Access, the game is also Steam Deck verified and part of a First Break Labs sale running through June 9, 2025.

The latest update brings several notable improvements. Players can now create their own challenges with a new Map Editor that includes mod browser integration, allowing custom maps using assets from Acts 1 and 2. Flamethrowers have been rebalanced for even more intense fuel-burning chaos, and incantations have been fine-tuned to encourage deeper strategic choices. Additional bug fixes round out the patch for a smoother gameplay experience. You can check out the full patch notes right here!

Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef

Set in the eerie seaside town of Innsmouth, Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef invites players to dive into the unknown, hunting for buried treasure while contending with eldritch horrors and ancient magic. With a mix of solo play and four-player co-op, the game blends pixel art inspired by 90s classics with atmospheric horror rooted in H. P. Lovecraft’s mythos.

Players will face off against otherworldly creatures, unlocking upgrades for powerful arcane scrolls and spells as they delve deeper into procedurally generated dungeons. Whether navigating alone or with allies, the experience promises escalating terror and discovery.

To celebrate the update, Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef is now 15% off on Steam. Other First Break Labs titles are also available with discounts. This includes Entropy Survivors (35% off), Warside (15% off), and David, Neighborhorde, and Spingun (70% off).
