Mechjestic Demo Lands on Steam With New Trailer for TurnBasedThursdayFest

Start the Fight in Mechjestic

To mark the return of TurnBasedThursdayFest, indie developer Skinny Bandit has unveiled a brand new trailer and launched the first playable demo of Mechjestic, now available on Steam. The game blends turn-based strategy with deckbuilding and a heavy dose of steampunk charm, and it’s already turning heads.

In Mechjestic, players step into the role of Frolein, a battle-hardened frog piloting her faithful mech, Iron Tadpole. Together, they fight back against an insectoid invasion that’s warping the timeline. Each encounter demands careful planning, smart resource management, and creative play.

Deckbuilding lies at the heart of the game. Players collect cards throughout their journey to shape powerful hands that can shift the outcome of battles. But this isn’t just about cards. Mech customization plays a key role. Each of Iron Tadpole’s five limbs can be outfitted with Equipment cards, with bonus effects when matching sets are equipped.

Fuel is another core mechanic. It is needed to play cards and upgrade engines, but also doubles as a resource generated by recycling unwanted cards, offering a clever risk and reward system. Players can also discover and upgrade engines, each offering unique tactical bonuses.

Outside of combat, exploration unfolds on puzzle-style overworld maps obscured by a fog of war, requiring strategic navigation and thoughtful decision-making. Once the main campaign is complete, players can unlock the  Endless Mode. It offers an evolving challenge with new rewards and enemies on every floor. So, are you ready to take on the invasion? Make sure to wishlist the game right now on Steam.
