Expanding Xbox
A gaming portal lets players access their favorite games from locations away from their gaming console. Of course, more ways to access these portals mean more ways for gamers to interact with the games they love. Obviously, when it comes to gaming apps, the Xbox App springs to the forefront among some other good company. Today, Xbox announces their new partnership with LG Electronics. This new partnership is bringing the Xbox App to select LG Smart TVs. Importantly, this means that gamers will be able to access hundreds of games from the app right on their TV. A press release provides some extra details about the partnership and insights from company leaders.
The Xbox App arriving to select LG TVs means that players will be able to stream hundreds of games right from their TV. Importantly, the App coming to these TVs is bringing the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate catalogue to these TVs. Interestingly, this means Game Pass members can use Bluetooth or wireless controllers to paly the games they have access to. For instance, gamers can now play titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and upcoming title Avowed which launches in February of 2025.
“We are thrilled to announce the partnership with Xbox, which aims to enrich the gaming experience on LG Smart TVs with a broader selection of popular games,” said Chris Jo, senior vice president of platform business at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company.
Additionally, Lori Wright, Corporate Vice President of Xbox, states, “We’re fortunate to have a great partner in LG who will bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to more players, letting new and longtime Xbox’ers find their favorite games and play with friends across screens.”
