Out of Memories Has Brought the Pixel Horror on PC

Welcome to Out of Memories

The indie game studio Flat Voxel has announced that Out of Memories is now available on PC via Steam and itch.io. It came out on 23rd October, just in time for Halloween season. The game offers a minimalist spooky experience through impossible geometry, deadly traps, and caustic commentary from the people witnessing the player’s attempt to stay alive. You can purchase it for just $1.99 and dive into a horrifying, yet nostalgic retro world.

Out of Memories

Out of Memories is crafted entirely using Codepage 437, the quirky character set from the original 1981 PC. The game unfolds across six chapters of odd, surreal moments, all displayed in green with splashes of red. The sound is a mix of classic computer beeps, boops, and oddly realistic sound effects that create an eerie, offbeat vibe.

The game delivers a quick, satisfying adventure, lasting about an hour on the first run. However, time is your lifeline, and it’s constantly ticking. Every trap you hit drains five extra units from it, and if it reaches zero, it’s instant death. The challenge lies in navigating the deadly corridors while carefully managing your remaining time to survive and progress.

Out of Memories is available in English and Brazilian Portuguese.
