A recent report hints at Konami’s parallel efforts on two highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid remakes
Konami is reportedly venturing into the ambitious territory of revisiting its iconic Metal Gear Solid series with not one but two remakes in the pipeline. While the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, has been making waves, recent revelations from the Spanish website Areajugones suggest that a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid game, the second of its kind after Twin Snakes, is also in its nascent stages of development.
According to Areajugones, this remake of the first 3D game in the series is positioned as one of Konami’s most ambitious projects, entering its initial phases of creation. The report underscores that this remake will be tailored for the PlayStation 5, marking a departure from its predecessor, which targeted the PlayStation 4. Notably, this exclusivity doesn’t necessarily imply a PlayStation-only release, as the MGS3 remake is slated for a multiplatform launch. The development studio responsible for this remake remains a mystery, leaving fans eagerly anticipating official announcements from Konami.
Currently, Konami is actively engaged in shaping the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake and another remake for Silent Hill 2 in collaboration with Bloober Team. Although these projects are expected to debut in 2024, Konami has yet to provide official release dates.
As fans await these remakes, the Master Collection Vol. 1 offers a temporary reprieve, featuring the first five entries of the series.
