It’s All About LocationÂ
The setting of a game is always important. It is the concept that transports players to new worlds and adventures. Of course, the game’s setting becomes more alive when you can look at real-world locations that inspire them. Today, Yarrow Games and Versus Evil are inviting players on a sightseeing tour of their upcoming roguelike, Tamarak Trail, with a new developer diary. The dairy focuses the inspiration for many of the locations players will see during gameplay. Additionally, a press release provides more info on the game itself.Â
Tamarak Trail introduces players to a secret society known as the Sturgeon Lodge. As a member of the Lodge, players are tasked with solving the mysteries that surround a decaying and dying Earth. Importantly, players will encounter many challenges along this road. For instance, they will face a myriad of monsters, puzzles, and other challenges. Yet, they will have many skills at their disposal to deal with them, choosing from one of three classes. These classes are The Magician, The Tracker, or The Detective. Interestingly, each of these classes comes with its own distinct abilities, playstyle, and narrative choices.Â
Of course, the game brings players to a strange and wonderful new setting full of monsters and magic. However, this setting has roots in our own world. Players can check out the new developer diary for a glimpse of how its world was based off of Northern Ontario. Check out the diary below.Â
Tamarak Trail is releasing later in 2023 on PC. Currently, the game is available to wish list on Steam. Additionally, a demo is available for download for free.Â
