IESF World Championships 2023
This tournament will take place from August 25th to September 3rd. This year will mark the championship’s 9th year, and we expect it to be better than last year’s as IeSF the organizers always outdo themselves every single year.
This year’s tournament will be graced by 16 national teams and will be hosted in the city of Lasi, Romania. The tournament has a prize pool of $100,000, with the winners taking home $50,000, runners up $30,000, and second runners up $20,000.
The tournament will take place in two rounds, with the first being the group stage and later the playoffs. The group stage will comprise four groups, each with four teams. Twelve teams will then progress from the group stage to the playoffs, which will be in a double-elimination format. The playoffs will culminate in a showdown that will give us this year’s champion. The International 2023
The International is the biggest tournament in the Dota 2 calendar. The dates and location of the International 2023 had remained a guarded secret that Valve wasn’t even giving a hint of. Speculation was rife about when the tournament would take place, with most people swearing it wouldn’t go past mid-September.
But Valve, in their characteristic fashion, caught everybody off guard with their announcement the tournament will begin on 12th October and run to 29th October in Seattle. This year’s prize pool is a dizzying $40,000,000.
The top twelve teams on the DPC table will get a direct invitation to the International, with six slots being shared among the winners of regional qualifiers.
It’s no secret the game setup has undergone some changes since the last patches, and to see how players will navigate these changes in the tournaments. The new map has slightly more terrain to cover and will be a major test for the players. The major gameplay changes on the heroes and systems will also spice up things, and it will be interesting to watch how teams will adapt to them.
