DC Universe Online- Discover Your True Power
DC Universe Online is all set to make its entrance onto the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The news came out in the latest blog posted on the official DC Universe Online website. Ted Stone, the senior community manager revealed that the game will soon arrive on current-generation consoles during this holiday season.
Ted Stone wrote, “Along with the performance gains found playing natively on the latest and greatest hardware, the team is also working on gameplay and quality of life improvements to match,”
“This initiative is a long-term endeavor that is already underway. You will see some of these improvements launch over the next few months prior to release on the new consoles, some of them at launch, and some of them following over the course of next year. Stay tuned for a future update with more information.”
He also provided assurance to the old players who wish to transition to the newer versions that their progress will remain preserved. And they can still play with the same characters and friends. However, they did not mention any information regarding Xbox Series S. Knowing the fact that Series X titles always work alongside Series S, we cannot tell for sure if it is an exception or an oversight.
DC Universe Online made its debut in January 2011, initially released on PS3 and PC platforms. Subsequently, it expanded its presence to include a version for PS4 upon the console’s launch in 2013. In 2016, they introduced an Xbox One edition following this. And the game was further released for Nintendo Switch in 2019.
