Side Bullet Bringing Sidescrolling to Battle Royale

The battle royale genre isn’t new at this point. In fact, gamers have seen a seemingly endless stream of variations of them. For instance, the standard hunger-games kind of BR, to the extraction shooter, and character-based BRs such as Apex Legends. Yet now there is a new arrival to the genre with a horizontal twist. Today, South Korean studio PressA is happy to announce that their free-to-play sidescroller battle royale, Side Bullet, is coming to PS5 this Summer. Introducing players to a war-torn city full of different cartels, the game allows players to fight in a BR from a whole different perspective. A press release provides more details on the PS5 launch of the game. Additionally, players can check out a PlayStation 5 video for a glimpse of the game. 

Side Bullet unleashes players into an urban jungle full of hostile players and monsters. Of course, their goal is to eliminate all other players, survive themselves, and come out on top. Interestingly, the game’s sidescrolling perspective allows for some unique mechanics that players will need to use in order to achieve victory. For example, the use of grappling hooks, destroying the environment around them to make cover, or even using unlockable perks to customize the way that you play. 

Importantly, Side Bullet allows players to choose from a wide variety of characters from distinct factions. Each faction comes with its own unique special abilities and character designs. Of course, players can get a glimpse of these new designs in the PS5 video. Check out the video below. 

Side Bullet is arriving, for free, on PlayStation 5 later this Summer.
