The Penultimate GameÂ
It’s time for a classic kind of challenge. A challenge that demands the utmost skill and precision in a strange and unique bullet hell. Importantly, every shot counts, because every shot remains after the player passes. Today, RedDeerGames is pleased to announce the penultimate game in their Indie Spring Spree with the launch of the bullet hell, Cave of Past Sorrows. Introducing players to a world where the past blends with the future, this pixelized bullet hell truly blends life and death into one. A press release gives more details about the launch of the game. Additionally, an announcement trailer gives players a direct look at what awaits them in the Cave.Â
Cave of Past Sorrows is a bullet hell shooter that takes on a classic approach to games in its art style. However, that is where the classic feel stops. The game invites players to test their reflexes and their reaction speed. Of course, as a bullet hell, there will be multiple targets to shoot. Yet, the true challenge begins once you begin the shooting. Interestingly, every bullet that the player shoots will remain in the game throughout their continuous lives. The Cave of Past Sorrows reflects the attacks players make and throws them back at them later. This makes for an interesting gameplay loop where players must lead enemies into their previous lives’ bullets and try not to die themselves.Â
Of course, players can get a glimpse of all of the hectic action in the announcement trailer. Check it out below.Â
Cave of Past Sorrows is out today on the Nintendo Switch eShop as a part of the Indie Spring Spree. The game is acting as the second last game to be released with the spree.Â
