Witness the Master
There are very few warriors who can compare to the mystifying and collected aura of, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, Master Splinter. Yet, often he plays a more passive teacher. An original trilogy, Master Yoda to the Turtles’ Luke Skywalker. However, what if we could really see him go all out, jumping right into the action. We’re in luck. Today Tribute Games announced, in a blog post on PlayStation’s website, that Master Splinter will be joining their beat-em-up game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge (TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge).
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is a side-scrolling beat-em-up, with inspiration from classics of the genre. Featuring full pixel-art action and an 80’s vibe, the game transports players right into the TMNT universe. Yet, what would TMNT be without their honorable Master Splinter?
“‘If we did a new Turtles Beat’ em up game… what would be the ‘must haves’?” Unequivocally, the resounding reply was ‘We need to have Splinter as a playable character!'” Says Eric Lafontaine, Marketing Manager at Tribute Games, in the blog post.
Furthermore the announcement of Master Splinter joining the game comes alongside an eight-minute gameplay video. In addition to showing off the character model, the video also gives players a glimpse of Master Splinter’s move set.
So, how does Splinter fight? Essentially, how you would expect him to. Calmer in comparison to his proteges, yet not slow, with a tremendous aura of power. Despite being old, Splinter is no slouch when it comes to a fight. Additionally, his special attack, inspired by a scene from the 1987 animated TMNT series, where he lashes out with claws and kicks.
Master Splinter is now the sixth playable character that the game features. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is set for release on PlayStation 4 later this year. Are you happy to see Master Splinter added to the game? Who else would you want to be featured in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge?
