Facepunch Provides An Update On Plans For Rust Heading Into 2022

Facepunch Studios released Rust in 2018 on Steam and has since released the title on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. As 2021 comes to a close, the developers have reviewed their 2021 and have announced just some of its plans heading into 2022. Fans can look forward to a new zone, quality of life changes and much more. Facepunch also noted that 2021 was a massive year for Rust as it made significant strides in various categories. Rust is currently available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

In 2021, the developers released the Voice Props DLC Pack which became their best selling DLC to date. Additionally, in May, Double11 released Rust’s console edition which allowed a new player base to enter the mayhem. Some of the statistics from 2021 included 12 million copies sold in totality, 1 million DLC copies sold and various records for Twitch streams. Furthermore, in 2021, there were World revamps, missions, gestures, submarines and much more.

In 2022, players can expect more of the same. There will be monthly content updates on the first Thursday of every month. Also, the developers plan to introduce holiday events and hotfixes. Particularly, in February, Facepunch plans to release various quality of life changes. In the very near future, the company plans to release the artic monument along with weapons, vehicles, animals, new events and much more.

In closing, Facepunch announced that until January 14th, Twitch Drops will be enabled for Rust streamers. Players can watch their favorite streams to earn special and unique skins. The company plans to do another round of Twitch Drops in February.
