2D Platformer One Hand Clapping Releases on December 14

A Unique Indie Game Makes its way to Every Platform

One Hand Clapping is a 2D platformer that revolves around sound. The game will release on December 14 for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, IOS and Android.

One Hand Clapping is being developed by indie studio Bad Dream Games and published by Handy Games. This will be Bad Dream Games’ first and only released title.

The game’s selling point is its unique sound-based game mechanic. Players will have to navigate the game’s world and solve various puzzles using nothing but their voice. You can sing, hum, play an instrument or make a sound in any way imaginable. All you need is a microphone to play.

But how does it work exactly? Based on the gameplay trailer, it looks like there is a constant path being drawn for the main character to walk on as you sing. When you increase your pitch, the path elevates. The path also destroys various obstacles in the main character’s way.

Not only is the game’s mechanics unique and interesting, but its art design looks stunning as well. The world looks beautiful with vibrant and colourful backgrounds and adorable-looking characters. One Hand Clapping seems to mix its sound mechanics with its art design quite well. As the main character signs, the world around them springs to life.

One Hand Clapping initially started as a demo created by students from the University of Southern California. The students formed Bad Dream Games in 2018 and began working on the title immediately.  One Hand Clapping has received a multitude of awards including the Indiecade Audience Choice Awards and Intentional Play Summit Best Student Game.

The game’s price and download size are currently unavailable, but you can view its achievements and add it to your wishlist in the Epic Games store today.
