Once again, Jackbox Games does not disappoint! Especially during this time where most of us are hanging out at home with family and close friends, Jackbox Party Pack 7 is the perfect game to add to your collection of game night titles. With the familiar Quiplash in its third edition and an additional four titles that are just as hectic and enjoyable, this new bundle is perfect for households that are looking for easy and creative ways to have fun.

This bundle comes with five games – Quiplash 3, The Devils and the Details, Champ’d Up, Talking Points, and Blather Round. Quiplash 3 is much like the previous two Quiplashes, which requires quick and humorous responses to silly prompts. In addition, there is a need to come up with more answers than before, so be prepared to turn on the witty part of your brain. The Devils and the Details is a collaborative game where you play as a family of devils trying to perform human tasks and prevent catastrophes, all while trying to satisfy your own demonic desires on the side. Champ’d Up is a drawing game where you design a fighter based on a random prompt, and then have them duke it out against your friend’s creation for the title of whatever the game decides. Talking Points is like a Powerpoint with a bunch of random slides where you and your friends take turns to give a presentation without knowing what’s really going on. And finally, Blather Round is a game that requires pop culture knowledge and a creative way of describing your prompt without actually describing it.

The More the Merrier

With the exception of Blather Round being able to play with two people, all the games require at least three players. It makes sense though, because a lot of the games require others to choose between two players’ answers – and you can’t vote for yourself, right? There is a lot of cooperation and friendly competition required as well, which makes it hard to play with only two people. Blather Round ends quickly if you only have two players, so it may not be the most enjoyable. Although it may be tough to have a game night with a significant other, it is an excellent choice for when once at least one friend comes by. As long as you have three people to play together (with a maximum of up to eight players, with the exception of Blather Round which has a maximum of six), you are in for a night of endless fun.

While Jackbox does not have the capability for online multiplayer as of yet, you can always try streaming to other friends instead. You could even point a webcam at your TV if you have to. It may not be the most ideal, but it will work. The greatest part about this is all one needs is a handheld device to join in on the fun. This means if you have a phone or tablet, you’re all set. Only the host needs to use the controller to select a game from the menu to play, but other than that there’s no need for a controller at all.

As it is a game bundle with five titles, not all the games will be suitable or fun for everyone. It’s only natural that people will have different preferences, so you may end up playing the same games over and over again. However, it doesn’t seem to matter how many times you play one game, because the replayability of each mini game is excellent. That, and having different people playing together can create a whole new experience. Despite some games requiring knowledge of pop culture and references to people, places, and things, most of the prompts are well-known to the general populace and if you know your audience, you may be able to think up of a creative way to answer with humour instead.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never played the games before or if your artistic ability is basically zero, Jackbox Party Pack 7 is sure to bring a lot of joy into your home. There is a good variety of games, from creating speeches to drawing pictures, which can be as vanilla or as inappropriate as you choose it to be. Even though it is an offline multiplayer game, you can easily stream this to your friends. This party pack is a no-brainer to have in your library and is guaranteed to keep everyone busy while putting a smile on their faces.
