Hades Leaves Early Access and Launches on PC and Switch

To Heck and Back Again

After being in early access for almost two years, Hades is ready to venture out into the world of official release. This indie game may have gone under the radar for many people, but its elements borrow from other popular games like Enter the Gungeon and Darksiders: Genesis. For those new to Hades (see what I did there?), it is a rogue-like RPG where you play as the son of Hades, Zagreus. As the Prince of the Underworld, the player must fight through hell and will most certainly die trying to escape.

Hades 1.0

As a rogue-like game, there will be many runs, trying to get as far as you can, experiencing different rooms, enemies, and encounters each time. However, dying and trying again does not mean starting from scratch. Zagreus can keep items and upgrade attributes and abilities for future attempts. On top of all the content that has been added thus far, update 1.0 will be introducing the “True Ending” of the game, new events to encounter on the way, fully voiced characters, and new artwork and music, which is bumping, by the way.

Up until now, Hades had been on early access on the Epic Games Store and then on Steam later on. Now, it is out for those platforms as well as the Nintendo Switch, announced during this week’s Nintendo Direct Mini. You can ally with Greek gods, battle the legions of the Underworld, and escape Hades now on PC and Nintendo Switch.
