Revamping the Killstreaks to Make The Game More Fun
Treyarch announced that Black Ops Cold War will now have scorestreaks alongside killstreaks, rewarding people with bonuses for completing objectives for your team. Some people seemed pretty up in arms though, saying that this is just rewarding bad players. Although this is a pretty silly sentiment, developers have taken to Twitter to clarify that this won’t be replacing the extremely hard to achieve killstreaks.
Their aim with the new system to be making the game more fun the mid-level players who still play the game with regularity, but struggle to get those top streaks. Check out the tweets below:
The Black Ops Cold War Scorestreak System incentivizes a greater range of playstyles. Earn low-tier streaks by contributing your part to a team victory. But to afford the juicy high end streaks, you still need to rack up multiple kills in the same life to earn that Streak Bonus.

I wouldn’t say that at all. Trust me we’ve still gotten plenty of feedback internally that some Players cant earn streaks, and that’s ok. But we do want more of the middle-tier players who invest so much time in our game to also participate in the fun.

Is this system going to be the same for competitive? I believe the OG streak system would be much better for league.

There is a lot of elitists in the CoD community, as expected. But until the game is released, I think people should take a seat and trust the developers to make the game. If they think “bad” players getting streaks will make it harder for them to win, well, maybe they just need to get better.
