From Rags to Riches
The past four months of Call of Duty: Warzone has been mostly dominated by the same handful of loadouts. M4’s and Grau’s have largely been center stage when it has come to choosing the most deadly arsenal available. While there might have been a couple of outliers here and there the majority of players have been running a very predictable class setup due to problems with balancing. However, after the most recent update, the meta has significantly changed. One of the most unlikely candidates has emerged from the basement and is dominating the competition.
The FAL is now one of the best guns in Warzone. While it is certainly not a wonder weapon, it is in a much better spot than it was before. The mid-season update has buffed the FAL like you wouldn’t believe. The amount of damage that the FAL does up close is almost impossible to match. It has gotten so ridiculous that if you are able to stumble across Stopping Power rounds then the damage increase will mean you will be killing a fully armored enemy with a single headshot.
This has led some players to create their own version of the FAL that has max mobility and ADS time allowing them to clear houses and apartment blocks without any worry of being outclassed by SMGs or shotguns. The time to kill that the FAL now has is almost laughable when comparing it to its old self only a few weeks ago.
Other less used assault rifles like the Oden have also been buffed in order to try and force players to use something different. Hopefully, we will see less Grau’s and MP5’s thanks to the most recent update and actually get to play against the wide variety of weapons that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has to offer.
