Sea of Thieves is heading over to Steam in June. The pirate MMO is has been out for almost two years now and has its ups and downs, but it has still managed to gain a very loyal cult following. Rare, the developers of the game appear to seem confident enough to move their game into a broader market in hopes of picking up a few more fans along the way.
Sea of Thieves is a great time to have with a couple of friends. There is nothing like scouring the seas on your own ship with a couple of your buddies by your side. While the game does have a lot to offer players, many have complained about its repetitiveness and relatively empty open world. At least at launch, there was not a whole lot to do outside of hunting down treasure.
To be fair, Rare has done a good job of adding new features and content to keep the game fresh and for a while it seemed as though the title was making a bit of a comeback. Hopefully, these upward trends are only going to continue once Sea of Thieves launches on Steam.
Sea of Thieves is going to sell at $39.99 (USD) when it does finally reach Steam. It has also been confirmed that the Steam version of the game will be equipped with cross-play. This means that you will be able to play with friends who have this game for the Xbox One. A nice touch that will expand the player pool.
Despite the mixed reviews and feelings that some people have toward this game Sea of Thieves is still a great experience with the right group of people. If you and you friends and invested in what you are doing, it can be one of the most memorable games to date.
