Turns out a Bullet to the Head Isn’t the Only Thing That Will Stop a Zombie
Boy howdy. 2020 is starting off rough for games. So far, Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed until September, the Final Fantasy VII Remake has been pushed back until April, Marvel’s Avengers has also been pushed back until September, and Iron Man VR by Camouflaj has also been delayed until May. That’s bad enough, but now there’s even more. Today, Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka announced that Dying Light 2 is also suffering from delays. The only difference between those games and this one is that Dying Light 2’s release has not been rescheduled.
The bulk of the message says, “We we initially aiming for a Spring 2020 release with Dying Light 2, but unfortunately we need more development time to fulfill our vision. We will have more details to share in the coming months, and will get back to you as soon as we have more information. We apologize for this unwelcome news. Our priority is to deliver an experience that lives up to our own high standards and to the expectations of you, our fans.” TL;DR: Need more time, don’t know how much.

Delays are not uncommon in the game development industry, but this almost seems viral with how many games are getting pushed back in such a small time frame. Hopefully, we will get a new release date soon for Dying Light 2, and hopefully, there won’t be any more delays to upcoming games. Dying Light 2 will be out… sometime.
