A Major Win for Dying Light: The Beast
Techland has marked a major milestone with the launch of Dying Light: The Beast, celebrating a wave of success that has placed the game at the top of Steam’s Top Sellers chart. Within just two days of release, the title earned a remarkable 90% positive review score on Steam and drew in a peak of 121,222 concurrent players during its opening weekend. Across platforms, the reception has been equally strong, with ratings of 4.7/5 on PlayStation, 4.4/5 on Xbox, and 4.7/5 on the Epic Games Store. The studio extended gratitude to its players and media partners for helping make the release a defining chapter in the franchise’s history.
Tymon SmektaÅ‚a, Dying Light Franchise Director, shared: “Our entire studio poured two years of hard work into this project, always keeping players at the heart of every decision we made. We listened closely to community feedback when shaping creative and design choices. Seeing such a positive reception from players at launch proves that this approach truly makes sense.”

At the heart of Dying Light: The Beast is Kyle Crane, who, after years of torment under the Baron’s experiments, emerges transformed with both human and zombie DNA. As Crane, players must wrestle with this inner conflict while seeking revenge against the man responsible. The game blends open world exploration with survival horror, placing players in the hauntingly beautiful Castor Woods, a tourist destination now swarming with the undead.
Survival demands both alliances and strategy, as combat and traversal tools become vital in navigating the treacherous landscape. Yet the greatest danger awaits after sundown, when the world grows darker, and the true horrors reveal themselves.
