Unveil the Mystery in Ambrosia Sky
Toronto-based independent developer Soft Rains, in collaboration with Blackbird Interactive, has released a new story trailer for their upcoming game, Ambrosia Sky. Known for their inventive approach to gameplay, the team invites players to dive into a world where death, decay, and mystery intertwine in an expansive cluster of asteroid settlements.
In Ambrosia Sky, players step into the role of Dalia, a field scientist from a secretive order devoted to immortality. Returning to a devastated colony on Saturn’s outer rings, a place that was once her home, Dalia faces a haunting truth. Her friends and family are either dead, missing, or potentially complicit in the events that led to the colony’s collapse. Equipped with only an anti-fungal sprayer and a grappling hook, she must survive against unpredictable alien fungi. All while uncovering the secrets behind the colony’s downfall and ultimately laying the dead to rest.
The game combines fast-paced shooting mechanics with meditative cleaning action. Players cleanse and harvest alien fungi to craft new upgrades, enhancing their sprayer and traversal abilities. Each species of fungus behaves differently; some explode, some shock, and others actively hunt the player. The zero-gravity environments of the colony add another layer of challenge, requiring clever use of a tether to navigate treacherous terrain and uncover hidden areas.
Beyond survival, Ambrosia Sky emphasizes exploration and narrative. Audio logs guide players through Dalia’s journey, revealing poignant scenes that deepen the story. It also shed light on the fate of the colony’s inhabitants. With Soft Rains’ creative vision supported by Blackbird Interactive’s veteran expertise, Ambrosia Sky promises a unique blend of sci-fi storytelling, immersive gameplay, and atmospheric tension.
The game will launch on PC soon, with a demo currently available on Steam.
