For a time the Souls formula was hard to miss. With the booming popularity of the Souls games came a number of variants spread across genres with the intent of capitalizing on the skill-based combat formula that punishes you and requires you to die over and over again. Remnant: From the Ashes keeps its heart close to the source material with just enough mechanical differences to come out a little fresh. Are you a fan of Souls games? Remnant: From the Ashes is a third person survival action shooter in the vein of the beloved Souls franchise. Demons from another dimension have managed to pass into our world and humanity is struggling to survive. Players can enter portals to uncover the truth behind these creatures and how to stop them by themselves or in squads of up to three players. The game digs deep into the survival mechanic by having you scrounge and collect scraps to craft and upgrade your gear to survive, offering a combination of melee and ranged weapons.
