2K Games Has Recently Pulled Borderlands 3 Pre-Order from the Epic Games Store
Yesterday the Epic Games Store launched their very first major sale, and while many fans saw this as a good thing, some publishers didn’t see it the same way. Quickly after the sale launched both Paradox Interactive and Klei Entertainment pulled their games from the store. Now it seems that 2K has done the same, with the pre-order for Borderlands 3 just vanishing from the Epic Games Store.
So what seems to be the issue for these publishers? This Mega Sale is currently offering $10 off every game available over $15, which means that before Borderlands 3 was pulled from the site, it was the cheapest place to buy it. While many fans quickly jumped on the sale, 2K Games took the option to pre-order the game from the store without any sort of explanation.
Fast forward a bit and though the publisher still hasn’t given any type of explanation for why the pre-order was taken down, it has commented that Borderlands 3 will return to the Epic Games Store soon and that those who purchased the game at the sale price will still receive it when it launches. Here’s what 2K Games had to say about the whole fiasco, “We are working closely with Epic and have temporarily removed Borderlands 3 from their storefront. We look forward to the game being back on the Epic Games store soon. Games bought during their Mega Sale will be honored at that price.”
What do you think about this recent move by 2K Games? Do you think there’s any other reason that could explain why they took the pre-order down? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and don’t forget to keep it locked for updates!
