Mario Kart Tour Closed Beta Test Starts May 22nd
Over on the official website, Nintendo is accepting applications for the closed beta test of the upcoming Mario Kart Tour on Android devices only.
If you’ve got an Android phone or tablet, you can sign up for the closed beta test on the website between April 23rd and May 7th at 7:59 pm PT/10: 59 pm ET. Be warned, however, because Nintendo states that “the number of customers who may participate in this test is limited. If the number of applications exceeds the number of possible participants, we will randomly select the participants.”
The beta test is scheduled to run in Japan and the US between May 22nd to June 4th but Nintendo does caution that the dates could change without prior notice.
Nintendo has not said anything about a closed beta test on iOS devices. It’s possible they are waiting to see how Android users fare before accepting applications for an IOS one. Either way, the game was announced for both platforms so it’s coming eventually.
Mario Kart Tour was originally supposed to come out “in the fiscal year ending in March 2019” but was pushed back to Summer 2019. Until now, Nintendo’s been quiet on details for the game. But now with this closed beta starting soon, we’ll finally see how it measures up with previous versions.
