The Brutality is Real
In a fantastic display of carnage and X-ray murder, Ed Boon and the Team over at NetherRealm finally revealed some extensive Mortal Kombat 11 gameplay at their reveal event in LA.
The new trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 brings the promise of more blood than any game previously, which is saying something. While the franchise is no stranger to dismemberment, disembowelment, and gory executions, Netherrealm cranked the murder meter to 11. Expect some redundancies when you’re killing a character that’s already dead.
Of course, as with any NetherRealm game, the experience will be bigger than before. For the first time, Mortal Kombat has been outfitted with an elaborate customization system. As previewed at the event, every character will have multiple skins, various cosmetics, and new variations of their signature weapons. Of course, there are new moves and abilities unique to the next entry, but you’ll have to catch that in the new trailer. Characters new and old have set foot in the bloody arena. Check a look.
Are you excited yet? Now that the reveal has happened, we can look forward to new fighter announcements in the coming weeks. The preview event teased quite a few more, beyond the cast of seven thus far. Our first character reveal comes at Kombat Cast, which kicks in on January 30th.
Mortal Kombat 11 arrives on April 23, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for the promised info dumps in the coming months.
