Bandai Namco and Wendy’s Get Clever with Jump Force on National Roast Day
On Twitter Wendy’s is somewhat a legend when it comes to quick quips and luckily, we got to see this in action yesterday on National Roast Day. Who was the company at the receiving end of the witty remarks? It seems Bandai Namco, the developers of the upcoming Jump Force, threw themselves into the mix.
The witty banter started as Wendy’s extended an open invitation for companies to throw their hat in the ring against the master. Bandai Namco just couldn’t pass up the opportunity and quickly asked “If they could get a roast,” and man did Wendy’s deliver something juicy. You can check out the exchange below.
It’s go time! You want the roast? Then let’s go! #NationalRoastDay

Up until Bandai Namco’s curveball there at the end, the clever lines are probably what you might expect between the two major companies. Interestingly, this Wendy’s character model in Jump Force sent the very real Wendy’s girl anime believers on the internet into a tizzy. While it seems that the Wendy’s mascot was simply created using the game’s character creator showcased last year, as a joke from Bandai Namco, many twitter users now want this to be a real thing. It’s not entirely out of the question for those who wish to see Wendy’s mascot appear in the game to simply fabricate her existence now is it? The character model now exists after all.
Jump Force is currently in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and is set to release in just over a month, on February 15th. Though there’s no mention about a Nintendo Switch release, it is a possibility, after all many Bandai Namco fighter titles have made it over to the console since its release. Fingers crossed there will be some sort of announcement about this soon.
What do you think about their Twitter banter? Are you now wishing for a Wendy’s mascot character to make its way into Jump Force? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and don’t forget to keep it locked for updates on the upcoming game!
