5 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Started God of War
With no doubt thousands of gamers already delving into God of War and more on the way, Santa Monica’s soft reboot of the franchise has been a monumentally critical success. With unprecedented positive feedback for the incredible lengths the studio went to to give us this game, they deserve every bit of the credit coming their way.
While we will each have our own way of delving into this Norse tale and exploring the game, there are a few elements of God of War that would be beneficial for you to know right out of the gate as opposed to going in blind. Here are the top five things I wish I knew before beginning the epic journey of God of War – and don’t worry, its entirely spoiler free.
God of War is a soft reboot for the epic franchise by Santa Monica Studios. The Ghost of Sparta, Kratos, is now much older and wiser. Having defeated the entire Greek pantheon, Kratos now lives in a realm of Norse mythology alongside his son Atreus. God of War is also heavily reinvented, stepping away from the hack and slash mechanics of the series and taking it into a more intimate level of skill based combat, alongside new RPG elements such as unlocking abilities and upgrading stats, as well as changing the look of your equipment.
God of War released today, Exclusively on PlayStation 4 and is 100% a must have for any PlayStation 4 owner. For more information, check out the game’s official website, and don’t forget to check out our video review here.
