Rocket League Welcomes Competitive Players to the Championship Series Open Registration, With a Few Exciting Changes Coming to the Rocket League ESport
If you’re a competitive Rocket League player, then this will be some exciting news for you. With Rocket League‘s longest season in history coming to an end, the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) celebrates by starting the Championship Series open registration for the open qualifier round of the third season for the RLCS tournament! You can sign up to compete with the best of the best when the tournament begins in March right HERE on Rocket League’s home page!
The end of the season is also bringing along some big changes for Rocket League in the world of eSports. Psyonix aims to solidify Rocket League’s standing in eSports, making their competitive tournaments something that’s more enjoyable for everyone that’s involved, while keeping the community funds gathered from 2016 within the community instead of the professional prize pool. Psyonix is also investing $2.5 million into Rocket League Esports, with only $1 million going back into the prize pools. The rest is going to major gaming festivals and large scale events such as PAX, community tournament expansion across all regions and platforms, and a true eSports program. You can read more about their big changes coming to eSports in 2017 in their eSports statement on their website.
