Mass Effect: Andromeda will Feature Two Versions of it’s Protagonist Ryder in the Form of Brother and Sister
In an PlayStation Access interview released today, Hollie Bennett interviewed creative lead Mac Walters on Mass Effect: Andromeda, where Walters dropped a number of hints on the upcoming game’s protagonist. Or is it protagonists?
“What a lot of people don’t know, little surprise here, is that these two are brother and sister,” commented Walters. “And they both exist in the game world at the same time.” He further explained that if you were playing as the female Ryder character, that would mean that your brother is somewhere else in the universe.”
During the E3 2016 trailer, we caught the first ever glimpse of Mass Effect: Andromeda’s protagonist, a female Ryder. Yesterday, a 4K tech video was released, and the human protagonist at the end of that was revealed to be a male Ryder.
The last tidbit Walters dropped was that the character in the E3 2015 announcement trailer wearing the N7 armour was actually the father of the two Ryders. “We’ve got the full Ryder family, sort of, now revealed,” said Walter. “We’ll do names and things in the future as well.”
By “the future”, we can assume that this will be on November 7th of this year, as the Mass Effect Twitter account revealed that a new trailer will drop on N7 Day. Also on Twitter, Walters also stated that the “story, setting, character, gameplay, and more will all be revealed, discussed, and presented later this year.”
@nerfedllamas Yep, on N7-Day we’ll show a new trailer and officially open the doors to the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe.
