No Man’s Sky Actually Releasing ‘Nothing Short of a Miracle’
Just yesterday the former Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Strategic Content Director, Shahid Ahmad took to Twitter to talk about the upcoming release of No Man’s Sky. He exclaimed that without a ton of dedication behind the scenes from himself and the game’s director, Ben Andac there was a good chance No Man’s Sky may never have seen the light of day.
No Man’s Sky is not just an ambitious video game. There is a story behind the game that goes well beyond what’s already been aired.

And yes, at some point I’ll give my side of that story.

@attnyjakebell It’s positive, but like all good labour stories, there is blood, sweat and tears. End result is a bay, that’s what counts.

It’s hard to imagine now, but at the time, for @NoMansSky to trust me, and PlayStation, was the biggest risk any developer has ever taken.

Essentially, Sean counted on me, who understood what the game meant to get PlayStation as excited as I was. And I needed Ben.

Me and Ben, for several years had a job the complexity and nuances of which it’s hard to convey.

People will of course see the game and judge everything that’s happened accordingly, but to get to this point at *all*, was a miracle.

There were many dark nights when the only thing that kept the deal alive was the energy, drive and total belief held by me and Ben.

That’s all I’m going to say for now. My diary makes for some interesting reading though.

No doubt the journey of almost every game is full of ups and downs but it really seems as if the journey of No Man’s Sky was a special one. We’re all excited to get our hands on it tomorrow we know that much. Perhaps we’ll all just take a moment to appreciate the kind of work that really goes into bringing these types of experiences to life for us.
