Rocket League Neo Tokyo Now Has A Release Date

New Pillar Mode To Be Featured For The Update

Rocket League is expected to receive a brand new update that includes a new mode, arena, and features. Psyonix revealed that on June 20th the Neo Tokyo update will be live.

Neo Tokyo comes jam packed with a new stadium formerly known as Underpass in the Rocket Labs playlist, the new Pillars mode which places two walls in the arena and divides it into three parts, also some customizable chat options and new post game celebrations.

Neotokyo-arena-rocketleaguePsyonix is revamping the item drop system by adding a few new features:

  • Over 20 rare and very rare item types for post game drops
  • A simplified trade-in mechanic that allows the exchange of multiple rare items for a rarer one
  • New “painted” items that offer colour variations for the garage
  • Special certified items which track in-game stats and prestige as the stats raise

Four new cars will also be coming including the futuristic “Esper” and “Masamune” vehicles which will be granted early access to purchasers of the Rocket League Collectors Edition on July 5th, otherwise, the new cars will be made available to the masses July 18th and will include decals and tires.

For those who haven’t tried Rocket League, a free multiplayer weekend is in effect that runs through July 12 on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
