Madden NFL 17 Graces the Cover with New England Patriots Rob Gronkowski
Among a few leaks this morning that suggested the cover athlete for Madden NFL 17 would be either the New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, or the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, we can now confirm 100% that Gronk gets the cover. This is hot on the heels of the man scoring the cover to the June issue of GQ magazine. Seems like Gronk is a hot commodity these days… or there is some wicked good advertising and PR hands at work here.
Rob Gronkowski was officially revealed as the Madden 17 cover athlete during ESPN SportsCenter today.
EA Access members can try Madden 17 before it’s released for a limited time as part of a Play First Trial, only on Xbox One.
EA Sports also threw in a couple of sweet screenshots for us to drool over too.
Madden NFL 17 will be released Aug. 23 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Last year we here at COGconnected enjoyed Madden 16 and had this to say about it:
“Overall, I am quite happy with this year’s instalment in the Madden NFL franchise. While the changes may not be as sweeping as we have seen in the past, Madden NFL 16 feels like the most complete Madden I have played in well over 10-years. I cannot recall a time where I wanted to play every single mode offered in the game over and over. That is the case this year. The new addition of Draft Champions is a delight and CFM and MUT continue to shine. There remains plenty of room for improvement, but there is no question the franchise has moved closer to a more authentic, true to life NFL experience.”
Stay tuned here for full coverage of the game as more details come out!
