Everything New in FC 27 Ultimate Team and The Grounds Explained

FC 27: Ultimate Team and The Grounds Explained

Ultimate Team is the most popular way to enjoy the game, but is FC 27 just a copy and paste of last year’s iteration? Also, what the hell is The Grounds? Well, find out below.

The FUT Gallery is a new feature that adds every player you have ever owned. This includes your current team and sets for each league. You can assign players per league to create a set. This will then be graded, gaining rewards. The higher grade you get, you’ll earn Gallery Tokens which you can use to purchase legends.

Live Events were successful last year and FC27 expands this with a single-player version. This allows you to play through challenges, giving more options for PvE players.

Out of the Menu

A massive update is the streamlining of SBCs. Historically, many players would spend more time in menus rather than playing on the pitch. You can now quickly pick players and submit rather than grinding through menus.

Adjustments are made to make the journey of creating an elite squad. It will now take longer to move from a starter to a stronger squad and then faster from strong to elite. This will hopefully lead to a more balanced experience when playing FUT.

Evolutions are a great way to develop your favourite player. FC 27 improves this by adding Evolution Pathways, which allow you to choose the way you want your player to improve. If you prefer speed or shot power, you can now choose this to shape your player to better suit your style of play.

On The Grounds

The Grounds is this year’s biggest change. This community-based mode is designed to bring players together in a large hub. Clubs have been central to the experience for years; however, The Grounds completely changes the approach to co-operative play. Clubs is seamlessly integrated, allowing players to play together against other teams easily. In addition to 11v11, Rush is also integrated, making this an active hub for all avatar-based play.

In addition to these, 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 options are also available, giving many new ways to flaunt your skills and play in unique ways. Kickabouts also provides fun, zany ways to play, with new modes introduced throughout the year. Dropkick targets also make the world a playground, capturing the notion of playing on the streets.

Customization is central to the mode. Amps are boosts that you can equip to improve your player. These are generic skills and ones based on real-life players to alter the way you play. This allows you to create a specific build to make the type of player that you want. In addition to your skills, you can also personalise your avatar with a range of costumes and celebrations to establish your identity.

Your Story

99 players will be in the hub at once, with each district representing different parts of the world. As you explore, mentors Mbappe, Dybala, Kelly and Alex Hunter will share their stories and offer challenges and rewards. These are designed to develop your skills but also add a small narrative thread throughout. Throughout the year, new seasons, objectives and updates will be added to make this a thriving world for you to explore.
