Grandia II, originally released on PS2 and Dreamcast, has been in the works to get an HD remake for a while. An announcement today from GungHo Online Entertainment America has revealed that not only will the remake now be titled Grandia II Anniversary Edition, but they’ve set a release date for August 24th, 2015 on PC. Included in the remaster are mostly visual upgrades, though some new Japanese voice work has been added as well. You can also find controller support and a new difficulty level for those seeking a different experience.
You will soon be able to purchase Grandia II Anniversary Edition on Steam or GOG.com for 25% off, or purchase it at a later date for the full price of $19.99 USD. Grandia II is a classic JRPG from 2000 that that holds a solid 90 on Metacritic, and featured an innovative combat system for the time. This year marks the 15th anniversary since Grandia II’s original release, hence the title change.
