Master Your Stealth in Thief: The Dark Project Remastered
Nightdive Studios, Eidos-Montréal, and Atari have officially announced that Thief: The Dark Project Remastered will launch on December 3 for PC and consoles. The modern revival of the 1998 stealth classic will arrive in Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions. There are also physical editions available for pre-order. Alongside the remaster, players can look forward to an entirely new campaign called The Tarnished Mirror.
Built using Nightdive Studios’ KEX Engine, the remaster brings back the original Thief: The Dark Project alongside the additional missions, content, and improvements introduced in the 1999 Thief Gold release. However, the biggest addition is The Tarnished Mirror. It’s a new story campaign created by the team behind the acclaimed fan expansion Thief: The Black Parade.
Designed to bridge the events of Thief: The Dark Project and Thief II: The Metal Age, the campaign introduces new factions, environments, enemies, and Lovecraftian horror. What begins as a seemingly simple theft eventually leads players into imprisonment, uneasy alliances, and a mysterious underwater necropolis. The remaster will also support player-created mods, including The Black Parade.
Players can choose between the $29.99 Standard Digital Edition and the $34.99 Deluxe Edition. It includes an art book, official soundtrack, and an excerpt from an upcoming novelization. Physical editions range from $29.99 to $69.99, with the latter featuring a Steelbook, printed manual, and special Remaster Diary.
Thief: The Dark Project Remastered launches December 3 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. With a new campaign joining this classic stealth adventure, longtime fans have plenty of reasons to return to the shadows.
