THE GROUNDSKEEPER Steam Page Is Now Live With a Playtest Announced for November

Maintain a Haunted Mansion in THE GROUNDSKEEPER

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if a cleaning simulator dropped you into a haunted mansion, THE GROUNDSKEEPER might have the answer. Solo indie developer DTheProDev has officially launched the Steam page for the upcoming first-person simulation-horror game, with its first playtest planned for November.

THE GROUNDSKEEPER puts players in the shoes of a worker hired to maintain The Manor. It’s a historic estate that has been turned into a haunted tourist attraction. Your job sounds simple enough: clean the place, keep the business running, and try not to die.

During the night shift, players will have to restore filthy rooms and blast away paranormal grime using industrial pressure washers. However, the ghosts aren’t just there for decoration. Entities react to your light, noise, and presence, turning every cleaning job into a potential survival situation.

Players can also use their phones to photograph ghosts and earn viral clout. The catch? Standing still to get the perfect shot might give whatever is haunting the mansion enough time to find you.

Things shift during the day, when players can manage ticket prices and repair equipment. They can even reinvest their earnings into better washers, mops, battery rigs, and survival tools.

The developer says community feedback will play a major role in shaping the game, from how frightening its entities feel to how satisfying the cleaning mechanics are.

With its Steam page now live and a playtest coming in November, THE GROUNDSKEEPER looks like an intriguing mix of relaxing chores and supernatural chaos. Just remember: sometimes the mess isn’t the scariest thing in the room.
