Clowntown Lets You Ruin Friendships With Ridiculous Minigames in January 2027

Almost Time to Enter the Clowntown

Batterystaple Games, the developer behind 30XX, has announced Clowntown, a chaotic co-op minigame collection coming to PC via Steam in January 2027. Revealed during The MIX Fall Games Showcase, the game will let two to eight players compete in a series of ridiculous challenges.

Clowntown takes familiar minigame concepts and turns them into increasingly absurd experiences. Players can team up to spell words in Spelling Bee before tackling Spelling Wasp, which introduces complicated words under time pressure. Bees Spelling takes things further with clown-firing cannons and actual bees that players must collect to complete their words.

Other activities include Friendship Test, where players answer questions about their friends, and trivia rounds featuring questions about which player is about to die. Competitive challenges also feature, with Fall Clowns testing survival skills on crumbling platforms and Charging Slammers requiring players to super jump their way to center stage.

Players can mix things up with disruptive modifiers, tackle platforming challenges under strict rules, and even kick their friends into wells in THIS IS SPARTA! The game offers Party, Co-Op, and Contest modes, alongside customizable clown outfits and more than 30 honk sounds.

Batterystaple founder Chris King shared his enthusiasm for the project: “It’s been a joy to make a game that’s just ‘everything that made the team laugh. Hopefully, you have one to seven friends to bring along for the ride – with a little luck, you’ll still have most of them left by the time the credits roll.”

Clowntown launches on PC via Steam in January 2027, with nine languages supported at launch. With its unpredictable minigames and chaotic multiplayer action, it could be worth watching for anyone looking for a fun party game to play with friends.
