Welcome to Packed Lair
Packed Lair has officially arrived on Steam, and it’s putting a clever new spin on the roguelike formula by combining Tetris-inspired base building with chaotic auto-battler action. Published by Mystic Forge and developed by Fables of Wits, the indie strategy title is available now for $7.99, with a 10% launch discount available during its first two weeks.
The premise is simple: you’re an evil overlord whose dungeon never stops attracting heroic invaders. The real problem, though, is that your lair is ridiculously suffocating. Every building occupies precious tiles, so you’ll need to draft, rotate, and squeeze structures into the perfect layout to create powerful synergies, generate resources, and strengthen your growing monster army.
Once your dungeon is ready, the action shifts into auto-battler territory as your minions clash with waves of heroes. Rather than sitting back and watching, players can cast spells during combat to disrupt enemies, save struggling runs, and turn seemingly hopeless battles into dramatic victories.
Packed Lair also embraces roguelike progression, with each run offering new buildings to unlock, fresh combinations to discover, and different ways to transform a tiny underground hideout into an efficient monster-producing fortress. No two dungeons are built quite the same, making experimentation a key part of the experience.
Packed Lair stands out with its fresh blend of spatial puzzle-solving and strategic dungeon management, making it an easy pick for players looking for a roguelike that rewards both clever planning and satisfying chaos.
